  • AUTOMATED POWER CYCLING TESTERS

    Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to develop a custom DC Power Cycling System to implement many cycles of, power up and power down, of multiple DC power based DUTs. The fixture was to be operated for extended period durability tests.

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to procure components, fabricate, assemble, and verify operation of a customer provided design.

  • AUTOMATED COMPRESSOR TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a custom Compressor Test System for functional test of a small battery operated compressor unit. The existing prototype DUT fixture design was to be incorporated with the new system.

  • AUTOMATED PUMP AND COMPRESSOR TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a custom Pump and Compressor Test system based on an existing design. The requirements for the new system included starting from the base design of existing systems previously provided by Emerging Technologies while incorporating features of multiple systems into one new system as well as including some new features.

  • MODULAR PRODUCTION TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to build a duplicate system to one previously provided by Emerging Technologies. Additionally, the system required the integration of a three-phase AC power source for testing three-phase product. The new three-phase panel is mobile for use with the automated test system (via GPIB interface) or elsewhere under manual control.

  • ENGINEERING TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a test system for electrically operated air pressure and flow based products. Accurate measurement of flow, pressure, vacuum, temperature, and barometric pressure of air with correction to standard flow was required. Additionally the system required control of AC voltage and frequency, DC voltage, as well as, metering of voltage, current, frequency (AC only) and power. Noncontact shaft speed measurement was also required. All metered values are stored to disk based on operator input via a National Instruments LabView 7.0 interface.

  • HIGH VOLTAGE ISOLATION INTERFACE

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was called upon to develop a high voltage isolation interface. The new interface isolates up to 10,000 VAC HiPot tester voltage from remote sense measurement hardware, used during functional test, while the DUT undergoes HiPot testing.

  • AUTOMATIC SYNCHRONIZED MULTI UNIT PRODUCTION BURN-IN & COMPRESSOR TESTER

    Emerging Technologies, LLC. was requested to design and build an automated compressor test system for pressure,flow, power and speed that included an integral synchronized burn-in routine. The system automatically controls back pressure to 100PSIG at flowrates of air up to 1.75 SCFM. The system was also required to manually check max vacuum up to 30”Hg. The system monitors barometric pressure, and ambient temperatures. It required a single flow meter for the pressure circuit to allow for the accuracy required for testing across the product ranges. A single auto-backpressure regulator was used to allow for the pressure control accuracy.

  • AUTOMATED ENGINEERING TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies, LLC was called upon to add functionality to a test system design for electrically operated air pressure and flow based products. In addition to the functionality of the existing Engineering Test System, new features included computer-controlled pressure and motor speed and an automated testing sequence that would remove user interaction required for numerous tests. The control for the added functionality was added to the
    current user interface.

  • AUTOMATED COMPRESSOR PUMP TEST SYSTEM

    Emerging Technologies was called upon to develop a multi-product custom pump test system for the functional test of fractional horsepower compressor pumps. This system included many features seen before in Emerging Technologies’ test systems. Pressure, vacuum, volts, watts, amps and duration are automatically tested against the configurable test sequence and specification. This specific test system is capable of testing a wide range of AC and DC voltage product. Additionally, the system monitors and records key specification points. Some compressor applications require the capability to start against pressure. As the test system monitors the DUT pressure, the test program cuts power at the specified PSIG for a pass/fail result. This test verifies the DUT can start against pressure without the need to exhaust all existing pressure in the system. Test results are stored locally on the system PC hard drive. A test report for each unit tested is added to an easy to read file allowing the manufacturer and/or customer to review each individual DUT’s results post test. The database of results is required to identify trends and fluctuations in manufacturing quality.

  • HIGH VOLTAGE HIGH CURRENT FUNCTIONAL TEST LINES 

    Emerging Technologies was called upon to develop and deploy two complete functional test lines for high voltage and high current testing of power industry products. The two lines were designed to be functional duplicates. Significant challenges included development of custom current sources, Faraday cages, high voltage switches, as well as a significant volume of functional tests at two separate test stations per line. Additionally the DUT’s required a five section semiautomatic conveyor system to move the heavy product through the test stations. The customer provided an RFQ and multiple test specifications as the basis for the design.
